Jeremiah Garcia Finishes Fifth at UIW Invitational, Lions Secure Sixth Place

Jeremiah Garcia, representing East Texas A&M University, achieved an impressive fifth-place finish at the 2025 UIW Invitational held on September 12 at Windcrest Golf Club in San Antonio. Garcia completed the four-mile race in 19:45.2, competing against a field that included five other NCAA Division I team

The Lions men’s cross-country team secured sixth place overall among 13 teams, accumulating 157 points. Other notable performances included Josh Shanahan (16th place, 20:26), Yosef Abdulrazeq (27th place, 20:44), and Taylor Warrick (52nd place, 21:19). The team was led by host UIW, which clinched the team title with a score of 34 points. Individually, Ian Rono of Texas A&M International took the top spot with a time of 18:45.

This event showcased the competitive spirit and talent of collegiate cross-country athletes, with Garcia’s performance standing out as a highlight for East Texas A&M University.
